A glimpse into the past-Christmas Special

Page 6 of The Motorsport December states:

24 HOURS AT 107 M.P.H BY JAGUAR
including 13 hours of darkness!

Giving an outstanding demonstration of reliability and endurance at high speeds, a standard British Jaguar XK120 driven by Leslie Johnson and Stirling Moss, has covered 2578 in 24 hours at Montlhery an overall average of 107-46 m.p.h. The last hour was at 112.4 mph and the fastest lap at 126 mph. During the 13 hours of night running, the cars Lucas Lighting provided the sole track illumination.
This follows Jaguar's success at the Alpine trial, at Silverstone  and in the RAC Tourist Trophy - all achieved on Standard Lucas Electrical Equipment
